A symbol has power, as any occultist or marketeer will tell you. Symbols evolve and change in meaning over time, for example the Nazi swastika used to mean eternity and well-being, now it means oppression and fascism.
Our general idea is that we are trying to create something that doesn’t exist, regarding modern interpretations of ancient Greek myths. Our basis for the idea is that, if enough people know about it, it becomes somewhat real (that is the whole backstory in our god complex universe).
When you see people debating their favourite team, or Apple vs Android, or Batman Vs Superman you begin to see that what is real is a rather fuzzy term. Is Superman real? Of course not. Does the whole world know about him? Hell yes. Do people empathize with him? It seems so.
So, we decided to use the messy picture of black ink forming on paper, in something vaguely resembling the letter M. It’s actually funny how our mind can still recognize the letter even though it looks so wrong. Our minds automatically go into pattern recognition mode and interpret what they see, sometimes denying facts and reality to present us what we want to see. It is also the basis for the Rorschach test, in which it doesn’t really matter what you say but how the psychologist interprets it in relation to your mind.
Is this so important that it is worth a post about it? Not really, but I believe it will help our avid readers/viewers to grasp our mentality. Our work is filled with ancient symbolism and peppered with some brand-new ones that we made up. Some of you will find it interesting. The rest will struggle to grasp the meaning of the following sentence:
“Have you ever tried to turn off your brain’s reading mode and simply stare at a book page?“
